For anyone who is dealing with stress, anxiety or depression, struggling with chronic pain or illness, or interested in learning how to live a fuller, more vibrant life, MBSR is a scientifically validated program which uses a variety of meditation techniques to help you increase your well-being and help you live with greater ease and happiness.  This 8 week class includes guided meditation practices, mindful movement exercises, and the opportunity to how to communicate and handle stressful situations more effectively.  It is a structured and supportive program which is highly experiential

MBSR was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and his colleagues at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society.  Since it was first taught in 1979, thousands of people have benefited from it.


Unfortunately, I will no longer be offering classes in the Rochester, NY or Finger Lakes area.

Recent classes

January-March, 2016

Fairport NY Course (Course 1):  There is a free introduction/orientation session on Tuesday, January 26 from 6:30PM-8:30PM.  This is free and open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the class.  Attending this orientation is required to be able to attend the full course.  

Course Schedule: The 8 week class will be held on Tuesdays from 6:30PM-9PM from February 2 through March 22.  There will be an all-day session from 10 AM – 4 PM on Sunday, March 13. The Fairport MBSR Classes will be held at Molly’s Yoga Studio, 1000 Turk Hill Road, Suite 220, Fairport, NY  14450

 

Canandaigua NY Course (Course 2):  There is a free introduction/orientation session on Thursday, January 28 from 6:30PM-8:30PM.  This is free and open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the class.  Attending this orientation is required to be able to attend the full course.  

Course Schedule: The 8 week class will be held on Thursdays from 6:30PM-9PM from February 4 through March 24. There will be an all-day session from 10 AM – 4 PM on Sunday, March 13. The Canandaigua MBSR Classes will be held at the office of Dr. Ann Miller, 468 S. Pearl St., Canandaigua, NY 14424.

MBSR fee for either course: $325.   If you register and pay early,  the fee will be $300.  $275 for seniors.  Discounts and payment  plans are available, please inquire.  The fee covers all materials, including a workbook and CD or MP3 download for home practice.
